my Good Friday diary: Pagharuk san Lignum

The second part of today's (Good Friday) Service is the veneration of the Cross. At the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral, not all the faithful are able to venerate the cross simply because of the huge crowd attending the service. The veneration which many folks refer to as pagharok san lignum continues after the procession and even after the estacion publico on Black Saturday. In case you'd like to know where the donation for the lignum goes, it goes to the Tierra Santa.
