images from my old hometown

From a local store somewhere in the city. Everybody loves a "sale" sign. But hhmm, parang gumulo ang store hours.

images from my old hometown

From a barangay somewhere. Let me see, I think they are offering two services. It's not that the lower portion (in tagalog) is a translation of the line in English. Oops, don't take it seriously, just wanna make you smile this week!

images from my old hometown

Saw this signage at the public market, yes public market. I guess the rates are clear. But does anyone make "tambay" in a C.R.? Smile! Have a nice week ahead.

images from my old hometown

I saw this poster at the gate of the Migara Elementary School last Saturday. I thought I'd like to share it with you.

images from my old hometown

Let's give ourselves a break. Hopefully I can give you something to smile about today. Please don't take this seriously. Here's a picture I got from the blog of Dennis Villegas. It's of a signage which used to stand on a vacant lot in Obrero a couple of years ago. I'm not into anything in featuring this picture. It's just the smile that I remember seeing on my companions each time we saw this. Well, what a way to promote proper waste disposal.

for Calbayog souvenirs

In case you need it, Calbayog arts and crafts / souvenir items can be had at KOLEKSYON. It's located at the Samar Island Cultural Tourism Gallery of the City Arts and Culture Office (at the Nijaga Park).

nanu ini?!

Sign of the times? I first saw this attached to one of the trees at Nijaga Park. And I saw it again today. I thought I read BAYAN, it turns out to be BAYANI. What's that for? To promote nationalism? But Independence Day was celebrated almost three weeks ago; or for the American Independence Day perhaps? Aha! I think I have a name in mind.

a friendly reminder

This billboard was installed near the main entrance of the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral a few years ago by the BCBP. A friendly reminder for us to be conscious of, well honesty, something that seems to be fast becoming a rare and precious commodity.

Another billboard or signage like this one was installed at the Christ the King College perimeter wall.
