Froline Sheane Lauderes Dalmacio turned 18 years old today. Her parents Froilan and Evangeline (Lauderes) Dalmacio tendered a dinner-dance for her at the Cardinal Rosales Hall of the Centennial Pastoral Center.

Retired Judge Clemente Rosales and Mrs. Basilisa Rosales will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary today.

The anniversary celebration was held a day earlier with Bishop Isabelo Abarquez presiding over the Eucharistic Celebration at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Reception was held at the Calbayog City Convention Center.

Dr. Francie Santos laid to rest

Dr. Francisca Palermo-Santos was laid to rest yesterday. Bishop Isabelo Abarquez presided over the funeral mass at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Here's my raw video of Rev. Fr. Tony Rosales, ofm as he delivered his homily during the funeral mass.

Miggy Bergonio Mendoza turned one year old today. He is the first-born of Badz and Jing Mendoza whose wedding I did about two years ago. The party was held at the ballroom of Ciriaco Hotel.

Chinese New Year at the Sam Tai Chi Temple

The invitation to the Chinese New Year Celebration at the Sam Tai Chi Temple is something I always look forward to every year. The said temple is located on the top floor of the Lim Guan Kho building along Rosales Boulevard. It is own by Tiboy and Iday Chan. Their kids were my schoolmates at the Calbayog Chinese School.


I forgot to take note of the explanations which Anthony Chan gave me regarding the images and the rituals at the temple. In the meantime, let me give you some pictures which i took during yesterday's celebration.

Mommy Sabel laid to rest today

Mrs. Isabel Gomez - Hernandez was laid to rest today. Rev. Fr. Julio Gaddi presided over the funeral mass at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Concelebrating with him were Monsignor Paulino Singzon and Rev. Fr. Iluminado Paulino.

Family members and two former students of Mommy Sabel delivered the eulogies after the funeral mass.

I'd like to take a few moments to remember Mana Mila today. It has been thirteen years since she received the gift of eternal life.

She used to write the column "Out in Calbayog City" for the Manila Chronicle. A few years before her death, she lent me that title for my column in the Leyte Samar Daily Express.
