the 2011 Fiesta Parade (3)

As I have stated in my earlier blog post, the City Mayor invited Bishop Abarquez, the Parish Pastors and the Hermanas Mayores to the 2011 Fiesta Parade. Here are some pictures of them at the City Hall stage as they waited for the start of the parade.

Here's the second set of pictures I managed to take during this morning's parade.

The early bird will get the worm, err the best spots. These folks were in the area as early as 6:00 am.

The Bishop with Mayor Onald Aquino, Fr. Julio Gaddi and the Hermanas Mayores as they waited for the start of the parade.

My perennial partner during parades, DYOG's Eleen Lim as she gave some (on-air) annotation of the parade.

The annual Fiesta Parade was held this morning. Mayor Onald Aquino invited Bishop Isabelo Abarquez, the Parish Pastors and the Hermanas Mayores to be part of the VIPs onstage to acknowledge the parade participants.

Here's the first set of pictures which I managed to take this morning. My apologies for the angle and the quality. I took this using my tab and I was confined to my usual space at the City Hall Stage area.

And yes, as the first image suggests, it was HOT during the parade . . .

images from the fiesta parade

As tradition would have it, the annual fiesta parade was held last September 7, 2010. It was participated in by the drum corps of the private and public schools of Calbayog, as well as some private establishments in the city. On hand to acknowledge the various parade contingents were the City Officials and Department Managers.

7:00 a. m. - The annual Fiesta Parade

3:00 p. m. - Re-dedication of the Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral

3:30 p. m. - 9th Day Novena Mass (Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral)

4:30 p. m. - Procession

7:00 p. m. - SMB Night (Nijaga Park)

7:00 p.m. - Sarah Geronimo Live in Calbayog! (Calbayog City Sports Center)

Fiesta 2010: Schedule of Socio-Civic Activities

Here's the Schedule of Activities in line with Hadang Festival 2010, it is also the 2010 Samar Island Cultural Tourism Festival.

Unless indicated, all the events will be held at the Nijaga Park

September 1, 2010 (Wednesday)

6:00 pm: Opening Ceremonies
7:00 pm: (simultaneous) Samar Island Exhibit, Hadang Ritual Competition and Tambayan sa Plaza
9:00 pm: Fiesta Jam; Hot and Sexy Party

September 2, 2010 (Thursday)

2:00 pm: Opening Kinahimat-an 2 Visual Arts Exhibit featuring Noel Sagayap
7:00 pm: Serapio, the musicale
8:00 pm: PPPP Filmfest (Digifilm showing)
9:00 pm: Fiesta Jam (Live Bands)
