LGU-Calbayog honors Angela Rubin

From the Philippine Star: Phl wins 5th ASEAN Regional Quiz

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Team has emerged as champion of the 5th ASEAN Quiz Regional Competition held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Friday, besting 27 other contestants from 8 ASEAN states.

The Philippine Team grabbed a total score of 71 points. Cambodia came close with 70 points while Thailand scored 68 points.

The team, composed of fourth year high school students - Franchesca Anne Inacay of St. Albert the Great School in Dagupan City (Region I), Kristiyanne Paul de Pedro of Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (Region XII), and Maria Angela Krizelle Rubin of San Joaquin National High School in Calbayog (Region VIII) - bested 27 other contestants from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam. PP12 Sideligths: Waiting for the Ambassador

PP12 officially opened a week ago today. Here are some pictures taken before the arrival of Ambassador Thomas who was the guest of honor during the ceremonies.

15th World Teachers' Day


DepEd Calbayog observed World Teachers' Day about two weeks ago. It was indeed a day to honr teacehrs in Calbayog. Mayor Reynaldo Uy took time to give a handwritten letter and a gift to his favorite teacher Mrs. Tersita Lucero. Students from the various public schools gave various intermission numbers for their teachers.
