Nahinumdum ka pa sini?

At half past lunchtime a year ago today, Calbayog got "chaotic" after it was "hit" by a Tsunami scare. I still have no idea how or where it started, but certainly those good-for-nothing individuals who were behind the scare succeeded in sowing panic among a good number of Calbayognons all over. But on the other hand, considering the resiliency that characterize many of us, we all had a good laugh about the whole thing after the panic has settled down.

Here are some pictures (I don't remember who gave me these) which i would like to share with you as we recall those unforgettable moments.

Preparing for Typhoon Haiyan

With Eastern Visayas under threat by Super Typhoon Haiyan / Yolanda, Mayor Ronald Aquino earlier today convened the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council for a final coordinative meeting so as to prepare Calbayog for the onslaught of Haiyan. The Mayor's Office will serve as the command center for the CDRRMC.

Max Sustained Winds: 65 kph / Gusts 85 kph
Min Central Pressure: 996 hectopascals mb
Recent Movement: West @ 20 kph
Towards: Samar - Leyte area
Max Sea Wave Height: 9 feet

Forecast Outlook: 04W shall start to turn more WNW and slowly intensify as it traverses the Visayas. The 2-day Medium Range Forecast shows 04W making landfall over Samar-Leyte this afternoon and cross either Masbate or Sorsogon early tomorrow morning (around 2 AM) with forecast winds of 85-95 kph.*Alternate Forecast Scenario: There's a possibility that LINFA shall track more to the North and pass along Taiwan Strait.
