The image depicted on the cover of 2009 Fiesta Souvenir Program is misleading. It must be St. Anne and Mama Mary. They are the exact personalities that we celebrate on September 8. Maupay nga patron dida sa iyo ngatanan.
Hi! Thanks for the comment. You must have been thinking about the image of our Mother of Perpetual Help. That was also the image I had in mind the first time Ninang Emma (the hermana) showed me the poster. As it turned out, it's a modern Greek icon of St. Anne and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Part of the explanation of the painting says that the flower on the hand of the Blessed Virgin represents Christ the Lord. This was painted by an “unknown” Greek artist in 1988. Please note the there are no images / angels on the upper right hand and left hand corners carryiing the spear and nails - symbols of the sufering of Christ. It's the same image / portrait of St. Anne and Mary which hand in the main hall of the Centernnial Pastoral Center. Again, thanks for the commenet. It;s very much appreciated.
