wedding in Mangguino-o

Three weeks ago my group asisted (how is that different from doing?) a relative's wedding. Actually it's relatives, I'm supposed to be related to both the bride and the groom.

It was a no-fuss wedding. The couple followed the basic and most important rule of every wedding: there was enough food for everyone. What caught my attention was what an old woman did as the couple was about to enter the hall (pix below) . With the guests standing, she practically stopped the newly-weds to do some ceremony of her own. The ceremony included combing the couple's hair and having them drink water. What the hell was that?!


The reception was held at the Blessed Rebuschini Formation Center where they had a nice garden and a nice view of the Samar Sea . . .
