Pablo Baeza Singzon was born on January 25, 1851 in the town of Calbiga to parents Demetria Baeza and Esteban Singzon. He was the eighth child of ten children and the youngest of four sons. He completed his primary grades in his native town under the direction of the Franciscan Fathers Fr. Antonio Figueroa and Fr. Antonio Sanchez and Fr. Andres Congzon, a secular priest. Since his childhood, he demonstrated his sincere piety and clear intelligence that his parents enrolled him at the Seminary College of San Carlos, in Cebu on November 9, 1866 at the age of 15.
