Calbayog bids Bishop Jose Palma goodbye

On April 29, 2006, a few weeks before his formal installation as the new Archbishop of Palo, Bishop Jose Palma was given a despedida dinner by the people of Calbayog. The event which was spearheaded by the LGU and the Parish of Our Lady's Nativity was held at the TTMIST Socio-Cultural Center. It was also attended by some parishioners from the Parishes of Trinidad, Oquendo and Tinambacan.

The Dinner doubled as a fund-raiser for the still unfinished Centennial Pastoral Center. And surely they came in droves. The TTMIST Socio-Cultural Center was filled with up parishioners who shared something in common, their love for Msgr. Palma.

Various groups gave presentations. Songs were performed by the Light of Jesus Community, the Community of God's Servants, BUGTO Association, and the Calbayog Medics Musicale.

Folk dances were perfomed by the Ladies and the City Arts and Culture Office personnel.

Here are some pictures from that event
