Wara la ak nahimo yana. I just remembered the pix I took almost a week ago when we met for my cousin Elgie's forthcoming wedding. Tita Belen served ibus and mangoes. More than the taste, it's how they "artfully" packed the ibus which caught my attention. Surely this is one those stuff which many of us will miss when we go out of Calbayog.

"Serapio: The Musicale" goes to Tacloban

Onstage tomorrow night at the RTR Plaza in Tacloban City is CACO's latest production, "Serapio: The Musicale".

The musicale which is directed by Jonas Lim will be staged upon the invitation of the Leyte Provincial Government. This is part of the activities lined up for the month-long observance of the Pintados - Kasadyaan Festival.

Let me give you something to smile about this week. Nakadto kami ni mama sa Tacloban for some personal business. First order of the day (upon arrival) was breakfast. And to be on the safe side, sa (ever-reliable) Jollibee kami namahaw. It would have been the usual breakfast if not for the way they served the coffee. As you can see it in the pix, it came in tumblers! Well, maybe naubusan sira styro cups, or maybe its their new advocacy to help save nature so do away with styro cups. Well, whatever, even if you are a fastfood, you don't serve coffee in tumblers, do you? Wara kami mag complain so I have something to blog about. Smile! It's a new week!

Serapio: The Musicale

Onstage at the Nijaga Park tonight is "Serapio: The Musicale". This presentation is being made by the City Government of Calbayog through the City Arts and Culture Office. This is in celebration of the 112th Philippine Independence Day. The same musical will be presented in Tacloban City on June 28 upon the invitation of the Pintados-Kasadyaan Organizers.

Fr. Mar Tubac to be formally installed as CKC President

Rev. Fr. Marcelo O. Tubac, ofm will be formally installed as the new Christ the King College President. The Turn-Over Ceremonies will be held at 4:00 pm today during the Eucharistic Celebration which will be presided over by Bishop Isabelo Abarquez at the San Damiano Chapel.

An agape and short program will follow at the AVR.

Bugas para sa mga 4-Ps beneficiaries

Guin tikangan kanina nga aga an pag distribwer san tag-usa ka sako nga bugas para san mga 4-Ps beneficiaries. An pagpalista guin buhat didto sa Joggers covered court sa Barangay West Awang. An panhatag san bugas didto guin himo sa buhatan san CSWD. As expected, a good number of beneficiaries trooped to the distribution area, at some point some CSWDO employees had to use a megaphone to restore order. So far, ngatanan nga nagpalista nga 4-Ps beneficiaries nakakarawat san ira bugas.

Where there is a gathering of people, expect the PD cab drivers and the vendors to be there.

I'm in Smile magazine

Hi there! I finally landed in a magazine. It's the June 2010 issue of Smile, Cebu Pacific's inflight magazine (nope, that's not me on the cover).

I made it in the last pages of the said publication. I would have wanted to submit an article about Calbayog, but for the meantime, I have to settle for the local flavor section of June - July 2010 issue.

A disclaimer though, the thing about some videoke and nightspots in Calbayog were not part of the answers I provided the editors.
